There are different ways to get a kitten. We would like to tell you what you should pay attention to when you buy one. It’s important to know that the sooner a kitten is separated from its mother, the bigger the chance of behavioral problems. According to the law a kitten has to stay with its mother for at least seven weeks. We even advise to leave a kitten with its mother for twelve to sixteen weeks. During this period behavior is strongly determined by a good socialization and the basis is created for a fun, social and sweet housemate.

Give love to a shelter cat!

Before finding a kitten, have you looked at in your nearest shelter? Shelters are often full of kittens of all shapes, sizes and ages. Abandoned by their owner, found on the street or dumped in a box or container.... All these kittens deserve a warm home! Generally, you pay a small fee for a kitten at the shelter.

The earlier the kittens leave their mother, the bigger the chance of behavioral problems.

Cattery

Would you like a purebred cat? We advise you to buy a kitten from a cattery that’s a member of a breed association. When you pick up your kitten, it will usually have been dewormed, vaccinated and microchipped. Most catteries will also give you a pedigree of the animal. Animals with a pedigree are generally more expensive than those without. With animals with a pedigree you are sure of their origin.

Private

Regularly there are private individuals who have a cat with a litter. You can buy a kitten from them, if it has been raised in good conditions of course.
